Lovers In Training™
Celebration of Love Gatherings

Designed to be 55-60 minutes long.

Love God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first great commandment. The second commandment is equally great — Love your neighbor as you love yourself. On these two great commandments hang all the law and the prophets. —Matthew 22:37-40.

This gathering format is closer to a traditional worship service than the other formats. It also includes bits of the other two formats. Typically, a local group will have regular Celebration of Love gatherings once their membership grows to a certain size.

Gathering Format

This page is a general guide to the Celebration of Love gathering format. Individual groups may vary this format as they are guided, sometimes from gathering to gathering.

  • Opening Song. Performed by a soloist, a small group, or the whole gathering.
  • Breathing Love. Inhale love, exhale anything less than love. (About 2 minutes.)
  • Greet Neighbors. Turn to your neighbors and tell them, with love, that you're glad they're here. Thank them, with love, when they say that to you.
  • Statement of Being. A reader reads the Statement of Being.
  • Welcome Newcomers and Visitors. Newcomers and other visitors who wish to do so are invited to stand and identify themselves by first name only. In larger gatherings, this may be done in clusters, instead of to the whole room.
  • Membership Commitment. A reader reads the Membership Commitment.
  • First Time Commitments. New members making their first public commitments are invited to come forward. A reader reads the Membership Commitment, phrase by phrase. New members repeat each phrase. Members in the gathering may repeat along with the new members, as a way to reaffirm their commitments to living love.
  • Remembrance of Commitment to Love. An internally created visual image is generated by each new member to remind them of their commitment to living love.
  • Anniversary Celebrations. Members with 1, 2, 3, and 6 month and annual anniversaries are invited to come forward. A new internal image of remembrance is generated, and compared to the original, to recognize the growth in love over time.
  • Sharings of Love. People share their experiences of living love.
  • Demonstration of Healing. One experienced person walks another through the Healing the Me I See in You™ process.
  • Readings of Love. One or two passages about love, from scripture or other writings, are read.
  • Love Exchange. While doing breathing love, move around the room, and make eye contact, face to face with another. Exchange love energy with one another person for several breaths through your presence. Then, move again, and exchange love with another person.
  • Song of Love. A soloist or small group performs a love song.
  • Love Offering and Announcements. Your loving donations are gratefully appreciated, but never solicited. A few short announcements, such as when the next gathering will be, are also made.
  • Closing Song. The whole group sings a song.
  • Invitation. Go, live love, pass it on, come back often, and invite your friends.

Some people may stay around for a bit to share love, particularly after evening and weekend gatherings. This a good way to connect with like hearted folks.

Love God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and love your neighbor as you love yourself. Do this and you shall live. —Luke 10:27-28.
